IM Self Audit

The Injury Management Self Audit has been designed to assist LGIS WorkCare Scheme Members as they work towards compliance and best practice in the injury management process as part of the WorkCover WA self insurance requirements.

In addition, the LGIS WorkCare Scheme Board has adopted the Injury Management Policy and Procedure Manual as a template for Scheme Members to comply with the self insurance obligations and guidelines set down by WorkCover WA and LGIS WorkCare Scheme.

Due to the importance of monitoring injury management in the self insurance environment, WorkCover WA require the injury management process to be audited annually. Audits will be in the form of Self Audits to be undertaken by each Scheme Member. The injury management audit has been developed by the Scheme to ensure uniformity amongst all Scheme Members.

It is important that the self audit results honestly reflect the state of development of injury management processes within Council at the time it is conducted. This will help in monitoring the performance of the Scheme as a whole and will also identify any short falls in the injury management system so they can be addressed in a timely manner.

LGIS WorkCare Scheme is committed to best practice in the area of injury management. The Scheme’s Injury Management Consultant is there to support members as appropriate in all stages of the injury management and auditing process.
